Myke ShyTowne has been a “MULTI-GENRE” DJ, Producer, & Mixologist in and out of The Chicago and Chicagoland Area for 15+ years

The name Myke ShyTowne was given to him by his mentors, friends and fans. He took the name on after it developed into what it is today. The shy part of the name derived from Myke’s “Shy” side, and also references “Chi-Towne” as in Chicago, the city where he’s from. He later added “Mike”, his real first name at the beginning to reference his birth name, but changed the “I” in Mike to a “Y” for creative purposes.

From Chicago, Myke ShyTowne ventured into many various styles of music and enjoys all of them including HOUSE music. He is known to his fans and friends as a “Multi-genre music DJ and producer, more so a producer/dj these days... I can be the type of artist where you will never know what to expect while listening to his mix sets/music . “Since I was moving away from the minimal hardcore sounds at the time, I needed a new sound. Being from Chicago, I started getting attached to the Chicago Hard House sound. I started listening to the B-96 FM weekend mixes (you remember the ones with Bad Boy Bill, Tim “Spinnin” Schomer, Julian “Jumpin” Perez, etc.) not to forget the sounds of D.J. Trajic, Fast Eddie, P-Jay, DJ Bam Bam, DJ Attack, Hot Mix 5 mixes … there are so many more…!”

Thus, liking the Chicago Hard House sounds, Myke ShyTowne constructed mixes for people featuring labels such as Underground Construction (UC), Jasper Stone, Abstract Records and more. “During this time, I was also interested in Progressive, Trance, Techno, Breaks, Jungle, DnB, Nu-Style (Hardstyle – 97' and on) Dub and many others — I do not know how many times I’ve broken my bank account picking records out from multiple genre stacks just to get enough music for one 60 minute mix!” After Electronic Dance Music mutated into many genres and sub-genres — Myke ShyTowne found himself inside a candy store of music possibilities!

“Being a multi-genre DJ, Producer & AudioMixologist has its perks. My passion as a DJ, Producer and AudioMixologist lies within the many different sounds of the beats, high hats, snares, keys, synthesis, machines, etc. — I have a VERY HIGH respect for production work and the many hours spent just for a few seconds of a track. I find it hard to neglect any of it!”

To further exercise his passion as a DJ, Myke ShyTowne has volunteered and has worked hard filling time slots and entertaining listeners on various online platforms.

Myke ShyTowne continues to release mixes and production work from all flavors of Electronic Dance Music (EDM). These include: Breaks, Various House, Progressive, Trance, Techno, Dubstep, Jungle, Drum-n-Bass, Hardstyle, Neurofunk and many more. “With great support and teachers, I plan on creating my own unique productions. My contributions to the EDM genres will include my own unique tracks and creations!”.
